Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Personal Independence Payment (or PIP) is a disability benefit awarded by the Department for Work and Pensions (or DWP). It is replacing DLA for people aged 16 and over.

Money is awarded to help people who have a long term illness, disability or mental health condition who need help with everyday life such as getting around, communicating and preparing food.

You can claim PIP even if you are working or have other benefits or savings. If you are awarded PIP you may get an increase in your other benefits too.
