Pre- settled status
To get pre-settled status, you only need to show you’ve lived in the UK for at least 1 day that was;
(Your family members can apply without having to satisfy this rule, as long as you satisfy it.)
Your pre- settled status will be given for 5 years. The 5 years starts from when you arrived in the UK. If you want to continue living in the UK for more than 5 years you will have to apply for settled status before your pre- settled status runs out.
The Home Office might ask you to provide additional information or evidence they need to enable them to make a decision on your application.
If your application is successful, a letter will be emailed to you confirming your settled or pre-settled status. It will tell you if and how you can view your status online and share it to obtain your rights.
