Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

To be eligible to apply for the PIP there are some requirements you must meet:

• You must be at least 16 years of age and you must normally be under State Pension age when you claim (1)
• You must not be subject to immigration control (2)
• You must need help with certain daily living activities or have mobility needs
• You must have had these needs for at least 3 months and be likely to have the needs for at least another 9 months
• You must normally be living in England, Scotland or Wales when you claim and have been living there for at least 2 years

- If you have a terminal illness the last 2 rules do not apply (3)

- If you, or a close member of your family are in the Armed Forces the last rule does not apply
